Re-enactment of the First Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Friday, July 8th 11:45 am - 12:15 pm - There will be a re-enactment of the First Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence.  Join the astonished crowd of 18th century figures on Independence Square to hear Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, portraying his ancestor, Colonel John Nixon, read the Declaration of Independence.  Watch from the south side of Independence Square (behind Independence Hall). Free copies of the Declaration will be given out.
